The questions posed by the 28-part series profoundly affect our lives, safety, health and pocketbooks. By so often ignoring them,  the mainstream press implies that the only issues are the issues candidates claim--usually self-servingly--to be the issues. Thus corporate welfare, say, isn't an issue because candidates choose not to say it is.
